Really! You can see it! http://www.pinterest.com/fadedvelvet/thanksgiving-day/
Our Thanksgiving day atmosphere teeters between chaos and insanity the entire time. This year, of course, was no different; possibly crazier than ever because we added a new twist to the festivities; three dogs. A Chihuahua, a Jack Russell and a Pit Bull!
"Thanksgiving Eve" started on a mild note. Everybody came in, dumped coats, shoes and took bags up to rooms. Eating, laughing, talking, our traditional corny movies and much sniffing from the dogs ensued.
UGH! Where are THOSE DOGS??? Who did it?
Back to the kitchen. Reality is I use my computer for recipes now instead of time-worn hand-written recipe cards.
In my Thanksgiving fantasy I pictured individual salt &pepper shakers at each place setting. Reality was it took three people to fill those silly shakers. There was, and still is, much salt and pepper EVERYWHERE.
Que sera sera!
Happily, there was PLENTY of other food to fill our plates with. In fact, when we were packing up leftovers, everyone said they didn't even miss the turkey and everyone voiced loud opinions of their personal favorite side dishes!
