You will need a bowl for the egg yolks and whites (get a larger bowl than you think you will need), eggs (not boiled) and long pins with pearl heads (better for gripping). Wash each egg in warm soapy water and dry completely.
Then, push the pin all the way inside the and break the yolk. I sort of circle the pin around the inside of the egg, essentially "scrambling" it. At least that's what I think I'm doing....I can't really see inside the egg.... It makes me feel like I'm scrambling it.
Make sure you blow ALL the contents out. The egg should slowly slide out.
When you've emptied the egg, rinse the egg out under hot, running water, holding it large hole UP. Dry the egg off with paper towels and place in egg carton large hole DOWN. Any remaining water and egg guts will drip into the carton.
Let them drain for an hour or so, then dry the whole egg off with a paper towel. Arrange in baskets or bowls or in individual egg cups.
I have done this with raw eggs that I have dyed in traditional "PAAS" coloring and they are great as well. It just depends on the look you are trying to achieve.
I hope this inspires you to try this at home. Have fun and be sure to share your completed projects with me.
