We have finally fixed the source of the problem, so we can repair this, but I do NOT do well "under construction" and I really don't do well under construction during the Holidays! Repairs will have to wait until January.
Meanwhile, we will need every bedroom available for visiting friends and family during November and December. I need to make this room presentable and inviting NOW.
Wallpaper border and paint will have to stay (and of course, the bed), but let's see what I can do. Spending no money. Zero dolla!
This is what the room looked like this morning. Just a hodgepodge of stuff. Functional bed, but no pizzazz....just yuk and blah!
I found a happy place for the bed, dug around and found a plain bedspread and made the bed neatly - if you are like my husband you may need and appreciate this tutorial. http://www.fadedvelvetshop.com/blog/make-your-bed Then I covered the spread with a large crocheted cover my mother made - just for a pretty detailed layer.
and then tried to decide on a bed tray between these three choices. Sadly, the silver tray made no sense because there is no silver in the entire room. The basket tray looked too "country", so I kept the traditional bed tray.
It's late afternoon and I need a break. I pour myself a glass of wine and survey the damage - because you know the rest of the house is a disaster now!
If you're in the area, call me...I've got a room ready!!!
