It was a beautiful day and we were in the mood to participate again. Last year was rainy and cold, but today was picture perfect! We dug out costumes for ourselves and our pets and started carving the pumpkins.
The kids are more apt to go buy costumes.
It was so nice outside the kids didn't have to wear coats, so they proudly showed each detail and prop they carried......no cumbersome umbrellas, hats and gloves to ruin the effect of their fabulous costumes.
This one fellow proclaimed loudly, "I'm a lumberjack!" We asked him if his wooden ax
was heavy (because it looked heavy). He turned and walked away, "Yeah, it's heavy."
Best of all, the Cowardly Lion found the rest of his Wizard of Oz crew! They were thrilled to find him! He was neutral about the whole thing.
Next time you are tempted to turn off your porch light and pretend you don't hear kids outside, think twice. Trick-or-treat is one of the few old school traditions that bring joy to both the givers and the receivers.
HAPPY AUTUMN MY FRIENDS!!
